Region Skåne Brussels office
Region Skåne is represented with a permanent office in Brussels. The office is part of the department for Regional Development, unit for External relations of Region Skåne.

Our priorities and activities in Brussels are decided by the directly elected politicians of Region Skåne, but also depend on the EU policy agenda.
The main functions of the office are to increase the visibility of Skåne at the European level and to strengthen knowledge, awareness and the participation of the European political process in Skåne and Brussels. The office also assists regional politicians, civil servants, and different actors for development from Skåne with advice on EU policy and provides information and guidance on possibilities for project financing using EU funds and programmes.
Close co-operation and a broad network
The Brussels office has an important strategic role in monitoring the EU policy agenda with regard to the region’s political priorities and main areas of interest: research- and innovation policy and industry policy.
The office in Brussels has a broad network of contacts in Brussels and Skåne. In addition to close co-operation with other Swedish regional EU offices, this includes close cooperation with Universities in South Sweden, and the Brussels representations of Greater Copenhagen EU Office.
The office is also engaged in Brussels based networks focusing on priority areas, such as:
- European Regions Research and Innovation Network (ERRIN) (errin.eu)
- European Semiconductor Regions Alliance (ESRA) (esra-org.eu)
- European Regional and Local Health Authorities (EUREGHA) (euregha.net)
